Before starting, completely turn off the forklift and remove the ignition key. Wear insulated gloves and safety glasses. Disconnect the battery’s main connector to eliminate any current flow. Work on a level, well-ventilated surface free of flammable materials.
Lift the hood or battery compartment cover. Locate the clamps, pins, or bolts securing it to the chassis. Batteries can weigh up to 700 kg; use proper lifting equipment such as another forklift, overhead crane, or hydraulic arm.
Carefully disconnect the positive (+) and negative (–) power cables. If the connector or cables are damaged, replace them together with the new battery. Check polarity: red to (+) and black to (–). Reversed polarity can cause serious damage.
Use non-conductive slings or straps to avoid contact with terminals. Lift slowly, keeping it level, and place it on a stable surface. Avoid impacts or tipping of the assembly.
